Calgary is a little bit cowboy, a little bit trendy and a whole lot of fun. I was amazed that this Alberta capital, the largest in this Canadian province, had so much personality! There's amazing local food, charming bike paths along the river, a really happening downtown nightlife scene and some fantastic hotels (Hotel Arts, looking at you). I really was amazed by the little neighborhoods and the innovative new hotspots like a food container bar, an incredible cocktail bar, the delicious Simmons Building and so much more. I even get totally outfitted as a cowgirl, just like any Calgary girl should. Big thanks to Tamara from Globe Guide to being my awesome local tour guide!

It is known as the "Stampede City", carries the informal nickname of "Cowtown" and the local Canadian Football League team is called the Stampeders. The city takes on a party atmosphere during Stampede: office buildings and storefronts are painted in cowboy themes, residents don western wear and events held across the city include hundreds of pancake breakfasts and barbecues. http://www.calgarystampede.com/ Filmed in July 2012.

The park is situated in the valley of the Red Deer River, which is noted for its striking badland topography. The park is well known for being one of the richest dinosaur fossil locales in the world. Forty dinosaur species have been discovered at the park and more than 500 specimens have been removed and exhibited in museums across the globe. The renowned fossil assemblage of nearly 500 species of life, from microscopic fern spores to large carnivorous dinosaurs, justified it becoming a World Heritage Site in 1979.

For those planning on visiting, those who’d like to visit but cannot or those who might be nostalgic and want to re-live their past visits / life there, hopefully this film shall satisfy, time and time again. I live only 2 hours away from this gorgeous place. This film doesn't do the place justice. Filmed in August 2014.
